This was the perfect opener for this little show. It got listeners ready, but didn’t really let on to them as to what they were in store for. Great song by any standards.
the guy from nickelback sounds like he’s on the toilet, he’s trying too hard, well thats what it sounds like to me anyway. eddie vedder is in a whole different league to those other guys.
@guitarman069 I agree with with you but, Alter Bridge are very good in their own right the other 3 suck balls well the other 2 and scott stapp suck balls.
Myles Kennedy has kickass vocals but yeah none can compare to Pearl Jam
@bigsmooth50 everyone of those instruments are plugged in…the show should have been called “bands you know playing songs you like on acoustic instruments” .. i guess mtv unplugged was just easier. plus the shows were recorded so all there lines are going into a mixer to be recorded. its a matter of audio quality

@epyx88 dude i totally disagree with you..i DO believe this song is about virgin sex..however ending with the person who you shared your very first feelings for, walking out on you at the end… he basically describes in the song how you can share so many feelings with someone and then at the end someone else gets to have him/her…”i know someday you’ll have a beautifull life i know you will be a star…in somebody elses sky…why cant it be mine?”…at least thats my opinion

This is actually my wife’s and my song. We have been together 14 years. I sang this song to her way back when we were just friends. She thought I could only be just a friend. We moved on to more and have never looked back. When I hear this song it takes me back to those days when she wasn’t mine, and I desperately wished she was. It is a very deep song about love and loss. In my opinion it is one of the best songs ever produced. A very close one would be Eric Clapton’s Layla.

@bigsmooth50 jeff is playing an electric bass to achieve the tone he got on the album- he’s using a fretless bass for this song.
Eddie wrote Better Man in High School didn’t release it until Vitalogy, just incredible, pure genius.
